covid
This is an update from our office regarding the Coronavirus pandemic. Our office is open and we take the health and safety of our patients and staff seriously and continue to take precautions to prevent the transmission and spread of infectious diseases. With this in mind, we are reaching out to share the actions we are taking to keep our patients, staff and our community safe.
- Dr. Rowen and all staff members are fully vaccinated.
- Instead of having patients walk through the lobby of the building where other offices allow their patients to wait, we are having patients park on the east side of the building and wait in their cars until the previous patient has left and the room is thoroughly sanitized.
- Once the room is ready, we have patients go through our side door for immediate access to their designated operatory.
- Upon check in, temperatures are checked, the bottoms of shoes are sprayed with disinfectant spray and hand sanitizer is provided and required prior to entering the office. This is regardless of the patient’s vaccination status.
- Every patient rinses for 30 seconds with peridex to help suspend any microbes in the mouth.
- We have installed ultraviolet lighting in our overhead lighting system as well as standalone ultraviolet units to move from area to area.
- We have a hospital grade HEPA filtration system.
- In addition to our standard suctions, we have standalone heavy duty aerosol suctions which are placed near the patient’s mouth during treatment to significantly reduce the aerosol in the air. The units have their own micro-filtration system with ultraviolet lighting to eradicate any airborne viruses.
- Masks are required to be worn upon entry and required when not being worked on.
- We are requesting that our patients not bring any unnecessary guests with them to their appointments. Please have anyone driving you to your appointment wait in their vehicle during your visit.
- Any patients who have traveled within 14 days or have been exposed to a person with covid-19 are required to postpone their appointments.
We also encourage our patients and others to follow some simple guidelines from the CDC, such as:
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds
- If soap and water are not available, clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
- Throw used tissues in the trash
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Wear a mask when around others or out in public
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily
Most importantly, please stay home if you feel sick or have a fever or cough. If you are experiencing any symptoms of covid-19, please contact your primary care physician as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support,
Dr. Robert Rowen and the staff of Rowen Dentistry
