What does it mean when my tooth is sensitive to hot or cold or sweet foods and liquids?
When sensitivity occurs from hot or cold or sweet foods and liquids that usually indicates different things. If a tooth is sensitive to hot, that usually indicates a root canal. If a tooth is sensitive to sweet it is most commonly a cavity. If the tooth is sensitive to cold then it can be a number of issues from a cavity, cracked tooth, or can be nothing at all. It is important to make an appointment to see the dentist as soon as possible.
Does it hurt when you get a cavity filled?

Bleeding when brushing and flossing often means you have the beginning stages of gum disease. Although, some blood is common, see your dentist right away if the bleeding continues. If untreated, gum disease could cause a recession of the gums and tooth loss.
